Sarah’s Patio Red is a sweet, light red wine made in the style of a rosé. The grapes were whole-cluster pressed, as they would be for many white wines, but with Norton, there’s so much color in the skins and pulp that the juice at this very early processing stage has plenty of color and yields a deep red hue. The fermenting juice and wine never see any oak, and is bottled early with lots of natural CO2 (carbon dioxide), with a significant amount of residual sugar left in the wine. The result is a semi-sweet, refreshing wine with lots of spritz. Enjoy refrigerator-cold.
Food Pairing Notes
This wine is very food friendly and pairs great with many things. Foods like an open faced roast beef sandwich, with Maid Marian camembert cheese, raspberry jelly, on lightly toasted sourdough bread or fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and home-made buttermilk biscuits all pair wonderfully. Also don't forget some yummy shrimp and grits with a Louisiana creole sauce!
